Two pathways — one UK seat

Online degrees are tuition-free UK awards. You enrol, submit work, and sit assessments without a UK student visa. Residential colleges (University College in the Castle, Hatfield, St Mary’s and the rest of the published 17) are a paid living-and-teaching pathway in Durham. Do not mix the two in a visa file.

Assessments follow the UK academic calendar. Online study needs no UK student visa. Collegiate rooms in Durham DH1 are a paid residential pathway — not included in the online award.
